ReplyDeleteWait…the U.S. release date isn’t until 31 January. Thang shared a great new release with us a week before it’s available! I’m listening to it right now, and while most of the eight discs have been released in either the Collector’s Edition or the Doráti Mercury Masters, the remastering here is excellent!

ReplyDeleteThe mono Concerto for Orchestra was recorded with Minnesota. The stereo version was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra. The dance suites, portraits and Mikrokosmos on the original Mercury album are with the Philharmonia Hungarica. DeleteGreat news! Eloquence will release Antal Doráti: The London Years in two limited edition overpriced volumes in just a couple of weeks. It's not listed on the Eloquence website yet, but it is in the newsletter I received in my email this morning. Classics Direct has pre-orders available. The London sets don't show up on the US version of Classics Direct, so let's keep our fingers crossed that Thang can come through for us on these upcoming releases!
