The Julian Bream Collection My Favourite Albums is a personal selection of the ten most popular LP albums by the British guitarist and lutenist, Julian Bream. Ranging from his very first recording for RCA, “The Art of Julian Bream” (1959), and his sensational recording of Lute Suites by Johann Sebastian Bach, it also features the popular album “Romantic Guitar,” released in 1970, his famous recording of the Concierto de Aranjuez from 1963 and the two legendary albums “20th Century Guitar” and “Julian Bream & John Williams live.”

The edition is a unique collection of facsimile LPs with original cover artwork and labels in a specially priced limited-edition 10-CD box set. The colored booklet accompanying this set includes comprehensive discographical notes.

In 1979 RCA presented him with a platinum disc to mark record sales of half a million in the UK alone, as well as gold and silver discs for duo recordings with John Williams.

His achievements have been reflected in a whole series of awards and honors. He was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1964, and a CBE in 1985. He has received honorary doctorates from the Universities of Surrey and Leeds and is an honorary fellow of the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music, and the Royal Northern College of Music, to say nothing of numerous Gramophone awards, two Edison awards and no fewer than six Grammy Awards.
