  2. Hi, thanks for sharing these great albums, you're doing a wonderful job! What i'm puzzling about is that you rip compact discs (16-bit/44.1khz) to 24-bit/88khz or 96 kHz, why's that? Converting 44/16 to 96/24 doesn't increase any info. You can't create what isn't there. it would make sense when the physical medium was a SACD or Blu-Ray. I'm curious about your reasons.

  3. Agreed. But I guess Thang takes what he can get, and I'd rather have a needlessly upsampled rip than none at all.

  4. I agree with you that he offers us a wealth of music, but was just wondering if he had specific reasons for using this sample rate and bit depth

  5. Stephan, not all content here comes from disc media. Quobuz seems to offer a 24-88 hi-res download. See http://mqs.link/thibault-cauvin-le-voyage-dalbeniz-2014-qobuz-flac-24bit882khz/

  6. Hmm.... Qobuz offer lots of hi-res streaming downloads (for a rather large price) but in many cases, including this one, the only source appears to be a standard 44.1 kHz/16 bit CD. On many streaming sites (no names, no packdrill) you can download at "high bitrate" or "hi-res" but they are just upsampling standard CDs.
