    wartime recording with de Machula's rendition of Schumann's of Cello Concerto under the baton of Wilhelm Furtwängler was tremendous (the other works performed at that concert were Bruckner's 5th and Alceste Overture, that overture recording survived not). in 60-ies demachula has recorded for Etcetera label Hindemith's Concerto with Kondrashin. it's all i have heard with him. it would be interesting to comparethe later studio version of Schumann's masterpiece.
