Boy, they're really trying to shove all these mediocre female composers down our throats, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteChances are Clara Schumann and Fanny Mendelssohn were better composers than their respective male figures. So much for "mediocre"
DeleteThere is no way that Clara and Fanny were better than Robert and Felix but they were as good, if not better than, many of their male contemporaries. Furthermore the Clarke has been a cornerstone of the viola repertoire for decades. I believe that our dear Thang is not 'shoving' anything down your throat, although he has offered us all the opportunities to hear works by male mediocrities interspersed with masterworks.
